Adelphi - The Smirking Room
May 28th
No bank holiday blues for us at le S.R...Oh no, with a fairly all new crowd, we had a top night from start to finish, and so I is thanking the punters for being fantastic.
First off we had the lovely James Christopher, who I hadn't seen in ages doing a totally new set, a stride apart from the geeky scarf wearing spod he used to portray, young James has found his voice and hoorah for him as he set the night off brilliantly.
Next up the very marvellous and fantastic Phil Ellis, who is a personal favourite, and never fails to deliver. His ease on stage and bonkers persona was a hit for everyone, long may he reign.
Break - which consisted of me having a pint of fruli, a wee and a chat with the punters re cow facts. Not sure what everyone else were doing...fill that bit in yourselves.
Next up, the super dooper Phil James who did us proud and took us to the next break in storming fashion. And in front of the in-laws too, a brave man.
Break 2 - no wee this time but yet another pint of fruli.
Finally, the brilliant Daliso Chapponda. The man rocks. Never ever fails to please and is a comedy god.
Finish - yet another pint of fruli, one wee for the journey, and a marvellous trip home after a brilliant night.
Thanks to all that turned out to support us and our night which is fast becoming a firm favourite in the heart of our gang.

The Smirking Room Adelphi
Review Monday 14th May 2007
Hoorah for velcro trainers.
Well, kicking in our bi-monthly gig nicely last night, with a brilliant audience and a cracking crew of acts, even with a guest appearance from the Skipper himself.
Smashing opening (not a pun about me) from Geoff Taylor who got the night off to a brilliant start and set the tone for the night. A nice break, i personally had a wee and a diet coke. Fab mid section from the newbie James Harris who did himself proud with gig no. 3, and Katie Mulgrew whose cheeky energy went down well. Followed by the Skipper, whose come back (having had time off to cultivate a child) proved he's still got it.
Then another break, and another diet coke, followed by Mike Wilkinson, who was blummin brilliant. Never disappoints does our Mike.
Another fab evening in the land of the Smirking Room, and the ever increasing return of our punters is really appreciated, and thanks to Inkjet Dad who came up trumps last night, along with new addition Kath, who was that far away from virtual wee in her mouth downstairs.
So thanks to everyone, and hopefully see you on the 28th May
...
